A very productive few days

Claire AtkinsonHello all,

dscf0728.jpgGroup two have really worked hard this week and have achieved a great deal. Not only have we almost completely finished the work at the girls home, but also the older boys room and the younger boys two dressing rooms. I shall attach some pics so that you can see the masterpieces and the vast improvements with your own eyes!

dscf0720.jpgI have also taken the volunteers to see the new basketball courts and tomorrow we start work on the BUPA garden. Spades at the ready! The week has absolutely flown and I cant quite believe it is my last day at the orphanage tomorrow. I know i’m going to miss the children so much and it’s going to be strange not seeing their lovely faces everyday. But i will be happy to know that some fantastic work is going to be done in the next few weeks by some great people and I will be eagerly watching the blog to see how everything is getting on.

Enjoy the pics!

Claire

    Hi guys

You’ve done an amazing job out there this week, you’ve got to be proud!

I bet the children are even happier than before with their new look home.

Well. I fly out tomorrow and today I feel a mix of excitement and butterflies. Not even packed yet, so think it’s going to be a long night tonight!

Paul - hope you’ve loved it this week - me, you & Lindsey will have to get together when I’m back and compare our stories - funny and sad!

I’m glad we were all given the chance to make a difference and given something back. I know already that my experiences next week will be something I’ll never forget for the rest of my life.

Safe journey home week 2 and take care.

Lots of love Debs Cook xx

    Hi Paul,

Can’t believe your week is nearly over. It sounds as though you have had a great time and worked really hard and seen some great things and I am sure you will have lots of wonderful stories to tell us.

Debbie is getting ready to go out so we are all excited for her today so will be having a few food goodies to send her on her way tomorrow.

Hope the journey home goes ok and see you back in Salford Quays.

    Love Lynn

    Hello everyone,

Just a quick note form back home in Blighty to congratulate everyone for all the hard work that has gone into the project so far. It sounds like the work being done is really making a difference to the children involved whilst for the volunteers the whole project is proving a very rewarding experience.

Good luck for the remaining groups

    Alex

Today is the last day working at the orphanage…………………Sorry I have not finished the
blog last night………….maybe I’m so tired, maybe it’s difficult to write down my feeling in words……..maybe I have too many excuse to comfort myself…………..I think it’s the right time
to refresh myself. Just do it tonight.

I feel sad all the day from this morning. I don’t want to talk any more. You know, I really miss the children at orphanage. I want to cry now…………………..All of you can see how lovely and innocent the children are but why their life so difficult? I don’t know whether I can see them in the next time……………………. Maybe I think too negative but please forgive
    me Oh! no…………I can’t control myself anymore………………………………………………………………..

But I really want to share my experience to all of the volunteers. Sometimes people are only focus on only one and you may ignore the others. The girl named “Wow”, I love her so much cause she is amazing. After the goodbye ceremony, Wiw (younger sister of Wow) gave me a big hug and said to me “Karen, I have given you 3 ties, I love you” (the following teams will know what I’m saying later). Do you know how guilty I am, I even
don’t know who is she. At last, she gave me her head band for souvenir. If you were me,
what do you think? Too bad…..isn’t it?

Thanks team 1 gave me the suggestion, so I brought a lot of candies to them. They love sweet so much and you can buy it from “Tesco”(big supermarket - you can go there by “tuk tuk” - take 5 to 10 mintues & it costs 20 baht each”.

SPECIAL THANKS to CLAIRE to make the arrangement in this challenge, it’s really a hard work. Well done Claire, I mean it. You done a good job.
And Thanks Mr. H as well, such a great guy he is (Sorted, Wicked & Tidy).

Think positive, I have to enjoy this last day I go with them. Right?
