Come on Dirty Dozen....the blogs seem to have come to a full stop and were meant to be a tool to keep Sarnelli alive in everyones thoughts!!
Cant wait for the reunion next week and planning the next visit at the end of the year???
Just preparing my display and speach for our Award ceremony and the pictures that I have just had blown up are bringing back some wonderful memories. I am hoping that thr 600 people attending will all dig deep and donate.
Keep up the good work miss you all
Love KAREN X

Happy New Year to everyone, just looked at the video diaries Jo's posted - seems almost unreal doesn't it ? I know they've been out there a few days - been away to Paris for a few days visiting friends. Thought I'd best logon and catch up and that's reminded me all over again what a wonderful time we had. Was it really only a week ? Even at the time it seemed both short and long. To do so much in a week means at times it seems like we must have been there a month. Hope you all had a good Christmas. Yes let's do it again, looking forward to meeting up again, be it in the UK Thailand or maybe even Australia. Fr Mike comments are wonderful, Dirty Dozen think of you often, love to all at Sarnelli Love Trace xxx

Happy New Year to all the BUPA volunteers and project leaders!

Well, almost two months later and Sarnelli continues to occupy a large chunk of my heart.

Just reading what we all achieved makes me feel proud. WE really made a difference out there and long may the links/support continue.

Just proves what is possible when you are working in a collaborative, positive environment, where people with similar values work together towards common goals that they believe in, whilst all having a laugh at the same time!

I'd do it all again tomorrow.

My Christmas was made when i received a phonecall from Karen and Adam all the way from England! It was so nice to hear their voices (and the voices of half of Karens neighbourhood.....) I loved it.
I am wondering how many volunteers are still wearing the cotton bracelets the children put on our wrists the day we left????? Mine are all still hanging in there! and i wont be taking them off untill they fall off naturally which could be months away. I cannot believe they are still on my wrist!!!!!!!
I am Interested to hear from anyone else who is still wearing them
love to hear from you

Well that has just about done me for today. Sat in my bed with flu watching the DVD from the Pattaya orphanage and then reading this....what memories and I revisit then each day. I am counrting the days to meet some of the friends that I made at a mini reunion in January, counting the minutes to call Julia in OZ on Christmas Day and counting the months to next November 2008 when we are revisiting our friends in the orphanage.
Have a fantastic Christmas everyone, Love and hugs to the children at Sarnelli Karen x x

Andy,

Great blog.

Great that you did thiis. I think it is great you raise an issue with the Catholic Church. My brother in law's mlother used to run a similar place in South Africa for Africaan children. A continent beset with people who are not only living with HIV / AIDS, but so many sadly gone Desmond Tutu was so right when he recenly said the Anglican Church iis obsesesd with sexuality rather than the true 'Christian Message' I think this applies to not just the Catholiic Church but beyond. How you treat and view others in your life is so much more important than some bizzare message - as Desmond said.

Thanks again for this Andy and BUPA. I feel so pleaed to work for an organisation that is raising this.
